Job summary

Staffmark is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our HR team. This hands-on role handles recurring payroll processing for an hourly, multi-shift workforce while administering benefits and maintaining confidentiality.

You will work with managers to resolve timekeeping issues, use ADP Workforce Now, and ensure accuracy across payroll, deductions, and benefits. This position offers collaborative environment and opportunities to streamline processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• 2+ years of benefits administration experience.
• Experience processing payroll for hourly, multi-shift employees.
• ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of federal and state wage-and-hour requirements.
• Experience with benefits enrollment and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills; familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process payroll using ADP Workforce Now, reviewing timecards and pay changes.
• Resolve timekeeping issues and payroll discrepancies with managers.
• Enter and verify new hires, status changes, terminations, deductions, and payroll transactions.
• Coordinate new-hire payroll information with Talent Acquisition and Onboarding.
• Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and HSA/FSA.
• Process benefit enrollments and open enrollment activities.
• Reconcile benefit invoices, payroll deductions, and vendor records.
• Serve as a resource for employees on pay, timekeeping, and benefits.
• Maintain confidential payroll/benefits records and support audits.
• Assist with HR projects, SOPs, and process improvements.
• Provide occasional front-office coverage and professional communication with stakeholders.
• Build positive relationships with employees, candidates, managers, and vendors.
