Challenge Manufacturing is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to manage weekly payroll, timekeeping, garnishments, and leave administration for our Walker, MI plant. You will collaborate with supervisors and leaders to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance in a fast-paced, employee-owned environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of payroll/HR experience, strong HRIS/HCM skills (Workday preferred), and excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR and/or payroll administration experience.
• Experience processing high-volume hourly payroll.
• Experience with timekeeping systems, garnishments, and leave administration.
• HRIS/HCM experience; Workday preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for hourly employees with timecard audits and accuracy checks.
• Maintain timekeeping records and payroll data integrity.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and leave issues promptly.
• Coordinate leave processes including FMLA, ADA, and workers’ compensation.
• Support onboarding, orientation, and new hire processing activities.
• Assist with recruiting, attendance reporting, and HR audits.
