Job summary

Stitch Fix, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Associate to manage biweekly payroll for 4,000+ employees across multi-state environments. You’ll own large portions of the payroll cycle, resolve complex issues, and ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong controls, partnering with HR, Benefits, and Finance.

The role requires attention to detail, independent work, and comfort using Excel, payroll systems like ADP Vantage, Workforce, and Workday, plus AI-enabled tools to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data validation.
• Hands-on experience with payroll and HRIS systems (ADP Vantage, Workforce, Workday).
• Analytical, detail-oriented, capable of independent investigation of complex payroll cases.
• Effective cross-team communication, confidentiality, and commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own significant portions of the biweekly payroll cycle, including pre-payroll audits and time/attendance validation.
• Resolve complex payroll issues independently, including retroactive adjustments and multi-state taxation.
• Perform detailed payroll reconciliations and variance analyses; support general ledger tie-outs.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance to identify root causes and implement preventive improvements.
• Maintain SOPs, analyze recurring errors, and mentor junior payroll staff.
