Job summary

Remedy Staffing in Honolulu is seeking a Payroll Assistant to support payroll operations for a large healthcare organization. This role assists with payroll processing, researches payroll issues, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, policies, and collective bargaining agreements. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Pay ranges from $26.00 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience. In-state candidates only; benefits include weekly pay, medical/dental/vision/prescription, and

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; two years accounting experience may substitute.
• Two years payroll and/or HR experience required.
• Experience with collective bargaining agreements and timekeeping.
• Knowledge of FLSA, COBRA, ERISA and labor laws.
• Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in payroll processing and timely execution.
• Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries.
• Review payroll transactions related to compensation and timekeeping.
• Support payroll activities involving collective bargaining agreements.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with HR and other departments on payroll and attendance.
• Perform data entry, audits and reporting as needed.
