Job summary

Monroe Health Center in Union, WV is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounts Payable Clerk for a full-time role. You will support payroll processing, vendor invoicing, journal entries, and credentialing/enrollment activities to ensure accurate records and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have payroll experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion in a health-care setting. Prior AP/payroll exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• At least six months of payroll experience preferred.
• Experience with payroll, timekeeping, or financial software preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Enter employee hours, PTO, holidays, and leave into payroll software.
• Review biweekly timesheets, verify time records, and transmit payroll data for processing.
• Maintain confidential payroll records and related documentation.
• Prepare payroll reports and payments for deductions like taxes and benefits.
• Monitor leave balances (vacation/PTO) and accruals.
• Process and record federal/state payroll tax deposits.
