Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Associate Account Manager to manage payroll services across multiple states, acting as the primary client contact.

You will handle status changes, tax filings, and deductions while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role requires 3+ years of payroll processing experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with ADP/Paychex/Gusto.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing across multiple states.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Experience with employer account registrations and payroll tax filings.
• Familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, or Gusto.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary payroll contact for a portfolio of clients.
• Process payroll actions including status changes, separations, tax changes, and direct deposits.
• Maintain state and local withholding IDs and update rates as required.
• Ensure payrolls are accurate and on schedule for wages, overtime, bonuses, tips, and other payments.
• Review, verify, and reconcile payroll data per guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Respond to client inquiries on payroll, policies, and benefits topics.
