H&R Block is seeking a Payroll Associate Account Manager to manage payroll processes across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will be the primary contact for assigned clients, handling payroll actions, tax filings, and year-end activities.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of payroll experience, a degree in accounting or finance, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably multi-state.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Experience with employer account registrations (state withholding, SUI).
• Experience filing and amending quarterly/annual payroll tax forms (e.g., 941, 940).
• Familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, or Gusto.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary payroll contact for a portfolio of assigned clients.
• Process payroll actions including status changes, separations, tax changes, deductions, and deposits.
• Apply for and maintain State and Local Withholding IDs; update rates as needed.
• Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on schedule for all earnings types.
• Review, verify, and reconcile payroll data per guidelines and compliance.
• Provide clear responses to client inquiries on payroll policies and benefits.
• Manage payroll across multiple states with varying jurisdictional requirements.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records and documentation.
• Support year-end activities, including W-2/1099 issuance and compliance reporting.
• Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax forms; process amended returns when necessary.
