Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Transport Technician to move patients and equipment between care areas. You will document patient trips using Hospital Throughput software, assist patients in and out of beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs, and communicate with nursing staff to coordinate departures.

The role requires frequent standing and lifting, CPR/BLS certification, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training
• Basic computer experience required
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Document patient trips using Hospital Throughput computer program
• Transport patients to and from care areas and assist them to/from vehicle
• Communicate with patients regarding pending departure
• Move patients and equipment safely (bed/stretcher/wheelchair)
• Assist staff needing lifting help or sliding a patient
• Transport equipment under Transport Department
• Access Hospital Throughput on mobile devices for trips
• Assist patients with dressing/undressing as required
• Obtain a Nurse's Ticket to Ride and signature before departing
• Communicate with RN before patient departs or returns to room
• Ensure patient safety before leaving a department
• Maintain cleanliness of patient equipment after trips
• Report equipment issues to Manager and create BioMed service requests
