Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to support patient flow across care areas. You will document trips, move patients safely, and coordinate with nurses to ensure timely departures.

The role requires basic computer use, on-the-job training, and prior customer service or healthcare experience. A High School diploma and CPR/BLS certification are preferred. This is an on-site position with union-influenced pay.

Qualifications

• On the job training provided.
• Basic computer experience required.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient trips using Hospital Throughput system.
• Transport patients to and from care areas.
• Assist patients to/from vehicle, bed, wheelchair or stretcher.
• Communicate with patients and RN about departures.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient equipment after each trip.
• Report equipment issues and create BioMed service requests.
• Obtain a Ticket to Ride from the nurse and secure nurse signature.
