Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is seeking a Transport/Patient transporter to support hospital throughput. The role involves documenting patient trips, moving patients between departments, and coordinating with nursing staff to ensure safe, timely departures.

Candidates should have on-the-job training, basic computer skills, and preferred healthcare and customer service experience. CPR/BLS certification is required, and the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• On the job training.
• Basic computer experience required
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Responsabilités

• Document patient trip via Hospital Throughput computer program.
• Transport patients to and from care areas; assist patients to/from vehicle as needed.
• Communicate with patient regarding pending departure.
• Move patients to and from care areas, including getting in/out of bed or chair as needed.
• Transport equipment as required by Transport Department.
• Use mobile device to access Hospital Throughput Computer Program.
• Assist patients with dressing/undressing as required.
• Obtain a “Ticket to Ride” from nurse on arrival to patient’s floor and have nurse sign before departure.
• Communicate with patient’s RN before departure; ensure patient safe for transfer and arrival to next area.
• Safely park bed/stretcher/wheelchair and lower bed height before leaving patient.
• Inform receiving department of arrival and hand off signed documents.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient equipment after each trip and report equipment issues.
