Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a dedicated patient transporter to move patients, oxygen, medications, and specimens across the hospital. You will also collect wheelchairs and stretchers, log transport data, and assist with equipment turnover under supervisor guidance.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire. This full-time position involves day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, and the hourly pay ranges

Qualifications

• Attending or graduate of high school (or equivalent).
• No experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to destinations using required equipment and notifies staff of arrivals/departures.
• Records transportation data in departmental logs and on nursing/testing units.
• Records arrival and delivery information of radiology patients in EPIC as required.
• Perform oxygen rounds, monitor tanks, replace empty tanks and report damages.
• Transport specimens, medications, etc., safely and document delivery details.
• Identify and report defective equipment; arrange cleaning/repair as directed by Supervisor.
• Replace wheelchairs and stretchers to designated locations and conduct inventory rounds.
• Perform dispatch functions and log incoming calls with patient and transport details.
