Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Transport Associate to support patient flow within the hospital. You will document patient trips in the Hospital Throughput system and transport patients between care areas, assisting with bed, wheelchair, and stretcher transfers as needed.

Step by step you will communicate with patients and nurses, obtain the Ticket to Ride, and ensure safe handoffs to receiving departments. The role requires stamina for lifting and working rotating shifts.

Qualificações

• On the job training provided.
• Basic computer experience required.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare environment experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Document patient trip via Hospital Throughput computer program.
• Transport patients to and from care areas; assist in/out of vehicle.
• Communicate with the patient regarding their pending departure.
• Transport/move patients to/from care areas; assist getting in/out of bed or wheelchair.
• Transport equipment under the Transport Department responsibility.
• Use mobile device to access Hospital Throughput Computer Program.
• Assist patients with dressing/undressing as required.
• Obtain a 'Ticket to Ride' from the nurse on arrival to the patient’s floor.
• Obtain the nurse's signature on the 'Ticket to Ride' before departing.
• Communicate with the patient’s RN before departure or return to room.
• Safely park bed/stretcher/wheelchair; apply brakes and lower bed before leaving.
• Communicate arrival status to department.
• Hand off the signed 'Ticket to Ride' to receiving department.
• Ensure patient is safe to be left if receiving department not ready.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient equipment after each trip.
• Report equipment issues to Manager and create BioMed service request.
