Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to support patient flow in our hospital units. You will document patient trips, transport patients between departments, and assist them to and from vehicles, ensuring safety and comfort during every step of the process.

You will use Hospital Throughput computer program, obtain Nurse signatures, communicate with RNs, and help keep equipment clean and ready.

Competenze

• On the job training.
• Basic computer experience required.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Mansioni

• Document patient trip via Hospital Throughput computer program.
• Transport patients to and from care areas; assist patients to/from vehicle.
• Communicate with the patient regarding their pending departure.
• Move patients to/from care areas and assist with bed, wheelchair, or stretcher transfers; assist staff as needed.
• Transport equipment under the Transport Department.
• Access Hospital Throughput Computer Program via mobile device.
• Assist patients with dressing/undressing as required.
• Obtain a “Ticket to Ride” from the nurse on arrival to the floor.
• Obtain the nurse signature on the “Ticket to Ride” before departing from the floor.
• Communicate with the patient’s RN before patient departs.
• Safely park bed/stretcher/wheelchair and lower the bed before leaving.
• Communicate with the patient regarding arrival in a department.
• Hand off the signed “Ticket to Ride” to receiving department before departing.
• Ensure patient is safe to leave if receiving department is not ready.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient equipment after each trip.
• Report equipment issues to Manager and create BioMed service requests.
