Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Patient Transfer Logistics Specialist to coordinate patient transfers and manage bed availability from a Patient Logistics Center onsite. The role involves intake of referrals from Emergency Departments, inpatient settings, and community settings, with emphasis on rapid response and accurate information flow.

The position requires strong customer service, the ability to gather essential clinical details, and experience in transfer centers or bed management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of healthcare experience preferred.
• Behavioral health experience preferred.
• Call center, transfer center or bed management experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Responds to phone calls with urgency and good customer service.
• Gathers initial information to open cases for clinicians.
• Locates resources and coordinates patient disposition and admissions.
• Maintains bed availability inventory for non-HCA bed placements.
• Accepts, tracks and facilitates hospital transfers and transports.
• Provides updates on case status to customers.
