Job summary

Summit is seeking a Customer Service Representative I to support the Outpatient Surgery Center. You will greet and assist patients, handle registrations, collect payments, and ensure HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through the registration process, answering questions, and coordinating with departments to maintain smooth patient flow. High school diploma required; medical terminology preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• ICD-10-CM and CPT coding knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses A.I.D.E.T. in every patient transaction.
• Greets patients with a smile and introduces staff.
• Assists with Pre-registration and Registration.
• Maintains efficient patient flow at check-in.
• Collects co-pays, co-insurance, and balances; balances daily.
• Verifies patient information and updates as needed.
• Explains registration and scheduling processes; answers questions.
• Introduces themselves and coworkers to patients.
• Notifies patients of delays and expected wait times.
• Directs patients to the appropriate department.
• Keeps the check-in area tidy and organized.
• Enrolls patients in the patient portal.
