Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the Patient Services Center and in-office PST activities. You will collect specimens, explain procedures to patients, enter data into PathConnect and other systems, and ensure specimens are properly labeled and transported.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical specimen collection preferred.
• Strong attention to detail for data entry and charting.
• Ability to explain the venipuncture process clearly and calmly.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and treats them courteously.
• Ensures all specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens following procedures; explains procedures to patients.
• Handles disposal of biohazard materials per laws and policies.
• Enters patient and billing information accurately into computer systems.
• Labels, centrifuges, and processes specimens as required by tests.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains specimen integrity.
