Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the Patient Services Center and in-office PST duties. You will perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures, while interacting professionally with clients, patients and PathGroup personnel.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, adherence to safety protocols, and timely specimen handling to maintain specimen integrity and patient trust.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers courteously.
• Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly to patients, reducing anxiety.
• Dispose of biohazard fluids or tissue per laws, standards, and policies.
• Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer systems with high accuracy.
• Maintain daily PSC/IOPST logs and prepare monthly statistics.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and lab safety procedures to protect patient and staff.
• Communicate pertinent information to supervisor or group leader for resolution.
