Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures and explains venipuncture and other collection processes clearly to patients, calming them as needed.
• Disposes of biohazard materials per laws and policies.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into PathConnect and other PathGroup systems with high accuracy.
• Matches requisition forms to specimens; labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains temperature controls for specimen integrity.
• Maintains records and logs for PSC/IOPST, monthly statistics, and data.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
• Approves attendance and submits expense logs as directed.
