Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Kentucky is hiring a Registration Clerk to help move patients through service areas and ensure accurate billing.

You will interview patients, verify insurance, determine liability, collect amounts due, and scan documents while maintaining patient confidentiality and respectful service. Ideal candidates have strong customer service, computer literacy (EPIC, Microsoft Office), data entry skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Proven track record of excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to navigate through computer systems (Microsoft Office, registration systems, EPIC)
• Good typing skills / data entry skills
• Good interpersonal skills (work with the public)
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Maintain patient confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and/or family members to obtain accurate financial and demographic information.
• Verify the patient’s insurance through the on-line eligibility system.
• Determine patient liability and estimated charges for outpatients.
• Collect any amount due from the patient.
• Scan required documents and obtain signatures.
• Complete forms required by payers and hospitals.
• Greet and assist patients while maintaining confidentiality.
• Attend department meetings and adhere to policies.
