Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Patient Services Professional to be the welcoming voice and central administrative support for seamless patient experiences. You will manage calls, registrations, referrals, pre-registrations, and scheduling across multiple providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with workflows.

The role requires excellent communication, meticulous attention to detail, strong organization, and proficiency with clinic systems.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Formal Medical Assistant program or military training equivalent to accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Minimum of two years experience in a patient-focused healthcare environment.
• Experience in a high-volume multichannel contact center.
• Experience with computer systems including Windows-based programs and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patient appointments and provide information (addresses, hours, directions, etc.).
• Process phone, fax, email, and other requests with efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist new members with introduction to and explanation of services and provider availability.
• Update patients on referral or authorization status.
• Answer and screen a high volume of incoming calls and route to appropriate resources.
• Follow phone scripts and scheduling criteria to determine appointment type and urgency.
• Communicate complex exam preparation instructions to patients and physician offices.
