Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist I to provide essential front-office support in a physician office or clinic. You will greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, and help ensure a smooth, patient-centered experience.

Duties include scheduling, insurance verification, handling phone calls, and assisting with medical records as needed. Strong communication and data-entry skills help deliver accurate information and friendly service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare/clerical role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient duties, including check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones.
• Assists with patient registration by collecting and verifying insurance information and directs patients to appropriate waiting areas.
• Accepts payments for physician/clinic services and posts charges into the computer system.
• Generates daily payment reports and verifies cash drawer against reports.
• Provides accurate patient, medical, financial or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities.
