Job summary

Novant Health Urgent Care is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join our South Irby location in Florence, SC. The PSR will greet patients, manage front desk operations, verify insurance, enter charges, collect co-pays, schedule appointments, and maintain patient demographics with accuracy.

Responsibilities include daily balancing, processing deposits, assisting with training, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Willing to work 12 hour shifts and weekends.
• Willing to work at other centers as needed.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to reflect our mission, vision, and values through actions and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and manages front desk appearance and sign-in.
• Verifies patient insurance eligibility via telephone, fax, or Internet; collects co-payments.
• Enter charges into the system and maintain patient demographics.
• Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments.
• Maintain cleanliness of counters, waiting room, and front area.
• Refer patients to billing for assistance after center research.
• Balance daily transactions; deposit to bank as needed.
• Copy and send patient records as requested.
• File charts and handle lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Assist in training new employees; adhere to Code of Conduct and HIPAA policies.
• Complete PSR career development program within first year.
• Other duties as assigned.
