Novant Health Urgent Care (Formerly Doctors Care) is seeking a full-time Patient Services Representative to greet patients, assist with paperwork, verify insurance, and manage front-office operations at our Sumter center. The role includes entering charges, collecting co-pays, and maintaining patient demographics.

The PSR will handle calls, schedule appointments, and support daily front-office workflows while upholding our mission, values, and HIPAA-compliant practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Customer service experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Computer skills.
• Willing to work 12 hour shifts and weekends.
• Willing to work at other centers as needed.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to reflect our mission, vision, and values through actions and conduct.
• Previous experience working in a patient services representative position.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and assists with paperwork, sign-in and front office appearance.
• Verifies patient insurance eligibility and collects co-payments.
• Enter charges and update patient demographics, correct information.
• Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments.
• Balance daily transactions and prepare deposits as needed.
• Copy and send patient medical records when requested.
• Assist in training new employees and ensure compliance with policies.
