Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego, a large federally qualified health center system serving diverse communities in San Diego County, seeks a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification, CNA certification, or Medical Terminology course preferred.
• 1-year experience in community healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and register them in the electronic records system.
• Schedule appointments and process referrals and authorizations for specialty services.
• Collect co-pays and payments from patients per coverage specifications and from self-pay patients.
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with cash handling and balance reconciliation.
• Make reminder/recall notifications and respond to billing and payment inquiries as needed.
• Perform general clerical duties (scanning, data tracking, mail) accurately and efficiently.
