Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED. In lieu of diploma, equivalent combination of experience and education required.
• Associates Degree in Business or related field. One year experience in a healthcare setting. Bilingual in English/ Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Performs registrations, insurance verifications, scheduling, billing, filing, referral, and other clerical functions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Coordinates internal and external appointment for new and established patients based on patient's medical need, preference, and the practice schedule.
• Answers telephones and directs calls appropriately.
• Maintains current knowledge of insurance, managed care plans, and medical authorization requirements.
• Supports patient and providers with virtual care needs.
• Obtains and verifies insurance authorizations/precertification and completes medical record release requests and schedules/confirms patient appointments.
• Performs appropriate patient outreach including telephone and EMR messaging.
