Job summary

Firelands Health is hiring a Patient Services Representative in Sandusky area. You will triage calls, schedule appointments, and support front-office operations with EMR proficiency and a patient-first approach.

Under Site Director supervision, you’ll ensure accurate data entry, assist with billing-related tasks, and help patients access care while offering a warm, non-judgmental environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a general office setting preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health or publicly-funded environment preferred.
• Experience with computerized scheduling system preferred.
• Ability to type 40 wpm.
• Ability to maintain a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times.
• Ability to file alphabetically and numerically.
• Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Answer and triage phone calls, manage service requests, and gather data.
• Coordinate clinician schedules and patient appointments; manage patient flow at check-in/check-out and in the waiting room.
• Provide clerical support to the service staff and management at the site.
• Be proficient with the electronic medical record (EMR) and related software.
• Promote patient engagement with a welcoming, non-judgmental and supportive demeanor; inform patients if appointments run late.
• Assist with documentation of patient demographics and revenue-related tasks.
• Cross-train to keep front office operations running in staff absence.
• Assist with filing/scanning and QA reports; ensure proper EMR placement and notations.
