Job summary

Penn Medicine's Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Patient Services Associate for the ED Registration Access department. This part-time 2nd shift role focuses on patient check-in/out, appointment coordination, and handling calls and inquiries in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

The PSA supports high-quality care by managing patient flow, updating insurance details, and ensuring accurate billing and scheduling in the EMR system.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required.
• 2+ years medical office experience or 4 years customer service experience required.
• Advanced degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Associate of Arts or Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient arrivals and departures, managing and routing patient inquiries.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, confirm visit details, and update EMR with accurate information.
• Handle front-end duties such as collecting copays, obtaining signatures, and updating insurance/billing data.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain patient-focused, high-quality service.
