Finger Lakes Community Health in the Town of Sodus is seeking a Patient Service Representative to deliver friendly, professional customer service to patients, greet them, verify insurance information, and help guide them through check-in and scheduling processes.

You will support billing by explaining statements, collecting copayments, updating records in the EHR, coordinating appointments with providers, and ensuring smooth clinic operations at two locations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a healthcare or customer service setting preferred.
• A valid government-issued photo identification document is required.
• Intro knowledge of healthcare billing processes and appointment scheduling.
• Clear and professional communication in a clinical setting.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly; applies sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, verify insurance, update records, collect copayments.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments; minimize wait times.
• Verify insurance eligibility and explain billing statements; assist with payment options.
• Open/close building and maintain waiting area; address inquiries.
• Document telephone encounters in the EHR; follow policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
