Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a patient access coordinator to deliver compassionate service, assist with patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and billing inquiries in a fast-paced healthcare office in Monroe, NC.

You will manage front desk tasks, handle confidential information, and collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth patient experience while adhering to healthcare regulations. Prior front desk experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Customer relations experience required.
  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred.
  • Front desk practice experience preferred.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Should be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
  • Interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
  • Apply critical thinking and decisive judgment in a hectic environment
  • Work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting
  • Perform arrival and/or departure desk activities accurately
  • Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during registration
  • Enter and maintain confidential patient, insurance, billing, and payment information
  • Assist billing functions or direct inquiries to the appropriate billing office
  • Demonstrate proficiency in emergency codes and appropriate responses
  • Follow applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
  • Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
