Adventist HealthCare’s Outpatient Imaging in Rockville, MD is seeking a Customer Service oriented Patient Service Specialist to manage patient flow, scheduling, and information delivery. The role requires accurate data entry, insurance verification, and effective communication with patients and healthcare staff.

The successful candidate will handle appointments, pre-registration, payments, and inquiries while supporting a positive patient experience in a busy imaging setting.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or two years college preferred.
• Three years’ experience in providing customer services.
• Customer service in a patient care environment, including one year scheduling, preferred.
• Experience using a computerized patient scheduling system or computer terminals.
• Familiarity with medical insurance and medical terminology.
• Typing skill of 30 wpm is necessary.
• Knowledge of IDX patient scheduling/registration systems is preferred.
• Two years of office management experience, preferably in physician office/ambulatory care.

Mansioni

• Greet and direct patients for appointments, tests, referrals and information.
• Schedule patient appointments and tests using a computerized system; prepare notices and referrals.
• Verify patient demographics, financial and insurance information.
• Perform pre-registration to gather demographics and determine coverage.
• Maintain patient appointment history and records.
• Counsel patients on unpaid balances and anticipated costs prior to scheduling further appointments.
• Collect payments at time of appointment; prepare receipts.
• Print forms and reminder cards for patient encounters and daily operations.
• Coordinate with physicians and nursing staff to facilitate patient encounters.
