Job summary

State of Franklin Healthcare Associates in Johnson City, TN is seeking a Patient Service Representative for full-time clerical support. You will guide patients through intake, verify demographics and insurance, and update records in the EMR, while also handling payments and inquiries.

Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, collecting payments, and routing calls. A high school diploma is required and medical office experience is preferred; ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of grammar and punctuation.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service preferred.
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review demographics, insurance, and provider information, and update records.
• Instruct new patients to complete required paperwork and create new accounts in the system.
• Obtain a copy of the patient’s insurance card and driver's license.
• Update the EMR and take patients’ photos.
• Provide the patient with the SOFHA payment and privacy policy.
• Answer patient questions and concerns.
• Schedule/Reschedule patient appointments.
• Collect payment and notate on the patient encounter form.
• Route telephone calls and record/deliver messages accordingly.
