Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Patient Service Associate for the Regional Pediatrics of North Durham location to manage front-office duties, greet patients, schedule appointments, and assist with PHI-related processes. The role requires strong communication, HIPAA compliance, and reliability in a busy clinic.

The position involves day shifts, Monday–Friday with occasional weekends; experience in healthcare and Epic scheduling is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of direct patient-facing experience.
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of HIPAA policies.
• Able to read, understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors professionally.
• Schedule and manage appointments in Epic.
• Collect co-pays and balance daily receipts.
• Update demographics and insurance information.
• Process medical records and referrals.
• Support other front-office tasks as needed.
