Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a patient service/registration specialist to facilitate scheduling and registration for outpatient appointments. You will collaborate with registration and ancillary teams to ensure accurate data capture and smooth throughput of services.

The role requires strong computer skills, familiarity with medical coding/charge entry, and proactive communication with physicians and staff. CPR/BLS are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in a medical setting with coding, charge entry and payment collection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates registration and scheduling for patients.
• Communicates with registration and ancillary departments to ensure accurate capture and throughput of outpatient appointments.
• Schedules patient appointments for ancillary departments and ensures necessary information is recorded.
• Notifies physician offices of possible non‑covered appointments.
• Facilitates precertification for outpatient clinics.
• Maintains clerical records to support scheduling processes.
• Attends staff meetings and contributes to team discussions.
