The role emphasizes accurate scheduling information, patient preparation, and timely communication with care teams. The ideal candidate will provide superb telephone etiquette and strong customer service, maintain scheduling systems, and understand medical terminology and coding basics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must complete Orlando Health medical terminology course within 90 days of hire.
• One year of retail, customer service or health care experience preferred.
• Computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information of department/procedure specific scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation, arrival location and time.
• Be proactive with all customers by actively listening, showing a caring attitude and offering alternatives when necessary.
• Demonstrate superb telephone etiquette, team player attitude and professional communication skills at all times.
• Maintain working knowledge of scheduling systems and web-based resources.
• Maintain basic understanding of ICD-9 (ICD-10) and CPT codes, as deemed necessary.
• Review schedules daily and communicate changes to staff.
• Meet departmental productivity, quality and customer service standards.
