Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated scheduling coordinator to manage all aspects of patient care, referrals, and procedures at our Saint Louis, MO location. This role involves insurance verification, pre-certification, and maintaining accurate patient records in EPIC, while delivering exceptional service to diverse patients.

The successful candidate will have minimum 1 year of medical/clerical experience, strong computer skills, and a solid understanding of medical terminology, with preference for

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year medical/clerical experience involving customer service.
• Proficiency in computers, typing and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service skills with strong oral and written communication.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of scheduling/pre-authorization/referral process and insurance verification.
• Preferred 2 years combined experience in prior authorization and scheduling.
• Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all aspects of patient care including referrals, procedures, surgeries, etc.
• Handle patient financial account services including benefit assessment, insurance verification, pre-certification, pre-authorizations, pre-determination, and referral management.
• Ensure patient information and documentation are uploaded to EPIC.
• Demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication with patients of all ages.
