Job summary

Center for Primary Care in Augusta, GA seeks a Patient Services Representative to greet patients, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate records. This full-time role supports physicians and staff while ensuring a friendly, efficient patient experience.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of medical office experience, knowledge of electronic medical records, and the ability to handle emergent situations with composure.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Basic Life Support, ABROE or other certification.
• Minimum of one year of Medical Office experience.
• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
• Ability to type.
• Ability to identify emergent medical situations.
• Demonstrate positive customer service skills.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment, multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone by identifying person answering and assisting callers in a pleasant manner.
• Screening, prioritizing, and returning patient calls according to office procedure.
• Schedules appointments according to office procedure and to patient’s need
• Upon checking in a patient, acquires all necessary information prior to physician seeing patient.
• Accurately performs data entry on computer system for Billing and posting payment and gathering other necessary information.
• Processes incoming and outgoing mail, records requests, patient documentation, etc.
• Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office by assisting in other areas when needed or as requested.
• Always maintains patient confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.
• Communicates effectively by telephone and to the patient at his/her level of understanding.
• Promotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others.
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes, and making suggestions for improvement.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
