Job summary

Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Patient Services Representative is responsible for serving, greeting, scheduling, maintaining records and accounts for patients.

  • Answers telephone by identifying person answering and assisting callers in a pleasant manner.
  • Screening, prioritizing, and returning patient calls according to office procedure.
  • Schedules appointments according to office procedure and to patient’s need
  • Upon checking in a patient, acquires all necessary information (registration forms, insurance card copies, responsible party’s information, etc.) prior to physician seeing patient.
  • Accurately performs data entry on computer system for Billing and posting payment and gathering other necessary information.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail, records requests, patient documentation, etc. based on office procedure
  • Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office by assisting in other areas when needed or as requested.
  • Always maintains patient confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communicates effectively by telephone and to the patient at his/her level of understanding.
  • Promotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others.
  • Physical appearance and conduct are consistent with acceptable professional ethics and CPC standards.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes, and making suggestions for improvement.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Job Details:

Work Setting: Well-lit medical office environment

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Weekdays, and a bility to work flexible and extended hours, as needed.

Compensation: Market competitive base pay, commensurate with education and experience.
