Job summary

OrthoArizona in Glendale, AZ is hiring a Medical Receptionist to join our team of musculoskeletal care specialists. You’ll manage phone calls, scheduling, patient check-in, and front-desk workflows to enhance patient experiences at every touchpoint.

The ideal candidate has healthcare terminology knowledge, strong communication, and proficiency with practice management software and EMR systems (ModMed preferred).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
• Proficiency with computer programs and EMR systems, preferably ModMed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; teamwork orientation.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, screen calls, and route inquiries to the appropriate staff.
• Check-in patients, verify information, and schedule appointments.
• Index and route patient documents; assist with general front desk duties as needed.
• Support daily office operations and maintain a courteous patient experience.

• As a Medical Receptionist with OrthoArizona, you’ll get to:
• Answers phone in prompt, courteous and helpful manner, screening, and routing calls as needed, creates phone note in the patient electronic medical record, and/or providing information to patients
• Assist in indexing patient documents to the correct patient chart
• Assist in routing electronic faxes to the correct location fax folder and or uploading to the correct patient chart
• Assist with other duties as needed during down time
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Working knowledge of computer programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understand/Perform training on practice management software
• Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
• Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED

Preferred Experience:

• At least one year of medical office experience
• 1+ year using an EMR with ModMed experience preferred
• Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of insurance plans and the specialty referral process
