Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The PA will support orthopedic specialists in sports medicine, joint replacement, arthroscopy, and pediatrics, providing high-quality care and continuity between visits.

You will collect histories, perform exams, order tests, administer injections, and educate patients while working within a large, multidisciplinary practice known for advanced imaging and in-house MRI capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program, NCCPA certified.
  • Maintain CPR certification throughout employment.
  • Continually update knowledge of practice management software updates.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures in a busy orthopedic setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a patient treatment schedule in coordination with physicians.
  • Obtain complete medical histories and physical data.
  • Review medical records and interpret data for diagnostic decisions.
  • Order labs and imaging procedures as needed.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed.
  • Provide patient education on health, prevention, and treatment.
  • Assist physicians and ensure continuity of care between visits.
  • Provide on-call coverage as assigned.

As a Physician Assistant with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

  • Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the Physician.
  • Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Review patient medical records.
  • Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Perform complete physical exam and records findings.
  • Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer injections and medications.
  • Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
  • Recommend community resources to help patient and family needs.
  • Instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment procedures.
  • Assist physicians in recording patient progress.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  • Provide on call services on assigned basis.
  • Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands.
  • All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of computer programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete and maintain HCP training.
  • Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
  • Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Certification from the National Commission on certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of Physician Assistant experience in a busy orthopedic practice.
