Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities at the PSC or in-office PST. You will collect specimens, explain procedures, and maintain accurate records while interacting with clients, patients, and PathGroup staff in a professional manner.

The role emphasizes proper specimen handling, data accuracy, and adherence to safety and privacy policies, with on-site work and a focus on timely service delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. (May be required based on state and laboratory guidelines.)
• Phlebotomist Certification is preferred. (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains the venipuncture process clearly and calmly.
• Disposes of biohazard fluids or tissue according to laws and policies.
• Performs data entry and verifies patient and billing information.
• Maintains records, logs, and completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect.
