Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the PSC or In-office PST. Under the area supervisor, you will perform daily patient service activities, interact professionally with clients and patients, and carry out forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient-facing roles preferred.
• Knowledge of venipuncture technique and specimen handling.
• Ability to explain procedures clearly to patients and clients.
• Attention to detail in data entry and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains venipuncture process to patients.
• Disposes of biohazards per laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions in PathConnect and other systems.
• Enters patient and billing information with high accuracy.
• Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and records.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
• Keeps facilities neat and communicates needs to supervisors.
• Uses PPE and follows lab safety and compliance policies.
