Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians (OSUP) in Ohio seeks a Patient Services Associate Lead to coordinate front-desk patient support, scheduling, and payment processing in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will greet patients, check in, update records, answer calls, and ensure smooth referrals and follow-up care. This role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and exceptional service within a renowned academic health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, registers and checks in patients, updates demographics and insurance in system.
• Answers calls, relays messages, and coordinates with referring physician offices.
• Performs check-out, including co-pays, scheduling, after-visit summaries, and follow-up tests as applicable.
• Monitors patient wait times and notifies appropriate staff.
• Opens and routes mail; distributes documents and supplies; tracks patient information.
• Requests referrals and medical records for new appointments.
• Schedules appointments as directed.
• Maintains cash drawer and processes deposits; completes related paperwork.
• Contacts insurance for registrations and pre-certifications as needed.
• Proficient in job-related software; travel may be required.
• Maintains punctuality, professionalism, and respectful conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.
