Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a customer service oriented PSAs/Lead to coordinate patient support services in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, insurance updates, and basic cash handling as part of daily clinic operations.

The role emphasizes professional communication, multi-tasking, and documentation accuracy, with travel to support staffing at other facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Ability to solve problems and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, registers and checks in patients, updates demographics and insurance in the system.
• Answers calls, takes messages, relays information and assists staff inquiries.
• Performs checkout tasks including co-pays, scheduling, and after-visit summaries.
• Monitors patient wait times and notifies the appropriate staff when delays occur.
• Opens and routes mail, distributes documents, and tracks patient information.
• Requests referrals and medical records for new appointments and coordinates scheduling.
• Maintains cash drawer and processes deposits where assigned.
