Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a patient services teammate to support front-end operations across our outpatient network in Columbus.

You will greet patients, register and check in, update records, and handle payments while ensuring accurate charting in EMR or paper systems. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors; registers and checks in patients; updates demographics and insurance in the system.
• Answers calls, relays messages, and responds to inquiries; communicates with referring offices.
• Handles check-out processes including co-pays, scheduling, and documentation of visits.
• Monitors patient wait times and escalates as needed to medical staff or management.
• Manages referrals and medical records requests for new patient appointments.
• Schedules appointments and assists with payment processing and deposits as assigned.
• Travels may be required to support staffing at other clinics.
