Ohio State University Physicians is seeking an experienced patient services associate to provide excellent patient support, greeting and check-in, scheduling, and payment processing. You will manage records in EMR, coordinate with clinics, and assist with daily operations as a lead where assigned.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, multitasking, and clear written and verbal communication, with opportunities to support multiple outpatient centers in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Strong problem solving and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills for confidential situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, register and check-in patients, update demographics and insurance in the system.
• Answer calls, relay messages, and respond to inquiries; coordinate with referring offices.
• Process check-out tasks including co-pays, scheduling, and after-visit summaries.
• Monitor patient wait times and notify the appropriate staff of delays.
• Open mail, distribute documents, and track program data.
• Handle referrals and medical records for new appointments.
• Schedule appointments and manage calendar as directed.
• Maintain cash drawer, reconcile cash, and prepare deposits.
• Contact insurers for registrations and pre-certifications as needed.
• Operate job-related software and systems; possibility of travel between clinics.
• Show professionalism, attention to detail, and cooperative teamwork.
