Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Problem solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and provide excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, registers and check-in patients, updates patient demographics and insurance coverage in computer system.
• Answers patient calls, takes, and relays messages or scripted care directions; responds to inquiries and communicates with referring offices.
• Performs check-out processes including co-pay collections, scheduling, after-visit summaries, and ensuring follow-up tests are ordered or scheduled.
• Monitors patient wait times and notifies appropriate staff when delays occur.
• Opens and routes mail; distributes correspondence and maintains patient records as applicable.
• Requests and handles referrals and medical records from referring offices for new patient appointments.
• Schedules appointments when directed.
• Maintains cash drawer, reconciles daily cash, and prepares deposits; handles necessary paperwork.
• Contacts insurance companies for registrations or pre-certifications as required.
• Ability to use job-related software and systems.
• Travel may be required to support staffing at other clinical facilities.
• Demonstrates attendance, promptness, professionalism, attention to detail, and cooperative behavior.
• Other duties or special projects as assigned.
