Qualifications

• Typing 30–40 wpm required.
• 1–4 years in high-volume interactive customer service.
• Fluent medical terminology; orthopedics knowledge preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Strong written and verbal communication; follow complex instructions.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat.
• Know-how of HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors with courteous, helpful service.
• Oversee waiting area and coordinate patient movement.
• Obtain and upload insurance cards and photo IDs into EMR.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Prepare and verify time of service collections.
• Verify eligibility for upcoming appointments at all locations.
• Complete front desk tasks in EMR and respond to patient requests.
• Collaborate with patients, vendors, clinical staff, leadership, and physicians.
• Scan documents into patient records and manage records accuracy.
• Collect payments: copays and past balances; manage DME payments as needed.
• Answer calls and direct to appropriate personnel with excellent service.
• Comply with HIPAA and privacy policies; explain privacy rights to patients.
• Assist clinical staff with patient form completion and record reviews.
• Respond to PHI requests per policy; assist with front desk coverage across departments.
• Travel 50–75% to cover satellite clinics; maintain regular in-office attendance.
