Job summary

Tryon Med in Ballantyne, Charlotte, NC is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to support patient intake and processing. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:30pm at the Ballantyne office.

Responsibilities include scheduling in athenaNet, patient registration, greeting patients, collecting payments, educating on the patient portal, and ensuring regulatory requirements are met. Occasional coverage at other Tryon offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year medical office or healthcare facility experience.
• Experience serving customers in person and on the phone.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments in athenaNet.
• Prepare new patient charts and/or paperwork at patient presentation.
• Greet patients and visitors in a professional manner.
• Accurately perform registration process.
• Collect co-payments, outstanding balances, and co-insurance.
• Educate patients on patient portal usage and collect payments at Check-In/Check-Out.
• Work day end closure and reconcile batches.
• Verify eligibility and benefits for all patients daily.

Education
