Job summary

Orthopedic Centers of Colorado is seeking a Patient Advocate to help the clinic meet required standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, compliance, and fraud avoidance. The role involves registering patients, collecting information and signatures, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will work in a typical office environment, with Monday–Friday hours and potential local travel between offices.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with patient check-in processes and HIPAA basics.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely.
• Competence in using standard office software and phone systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
• Capable of maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information.
• Professional appearance and ability to work independently or with others.

Responsibilities

• Greet, register and assist patients in a polite, prompt manner.
• Verify insurance, demographics and collect signatures as needed.
• Collect copays and self-pay fees and ensure accurate billing data.
• Perform pre-registration and Phreesia validations; manage cancellations.
• Maintain a clean, organized waiting area and workspace.
• Communicate with clinical staff using Microsoft Teams.
• Present a professional demeanor and accountable for tasks.
• Work independently as well as part of the team.
• Contribute to compliance with clinic policies and procedures.
