Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Patient Services Representative in Utah to handle front office tasks, insurance verification, billing, and patient counseling on insurance and payment issues prior to surgery. Responsibilities include registering patients, collecting co-pays, posting payments, balancing receipts, and maintaining accurate demographic and eligibility data in the billing system.

A high school diploma is required; college degree a plus; 2 years of front office experience in a medical setting

Qualifications

• College degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and assisting with physician credentialing.
• Charge capture and over-the-counter payment posting.
• Insurance verification and eligibility.
• Insurance pre-authorization/pre-certifications.
• Counseling patients and families on insurance and payment issues prior to surgery.
• Ensures all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained from patients and entered into the billing system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Registers patients in the system.
• Collects and revises all patient insurance information.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles and other out of pocket amounts at the time of service.
• Posts approved adjustments to patient accounts.
• Balances receipts, reconciles daily work batches and prepares audit trail.
